A Little About Ana Maria
I was born and raised in Costa Rica, Central America. I am a Preschool teacher with a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State College in Massachusetts. I have been working with children since 1998 in all sorts of environments and grade levels; from the delicate and cute nursery children to teaching Spanish to active and encouraging elementary students.
I moved to Rochester MN in the summer of 2013 with my four kids. Jose and Cristina, are both college students who enjoy family time whenever they are around. Eduardo, is a considerate and super friendly young man that plays soccer and helps out at VHD after school; and Ana Lucia, is a sweet and energetic girl who enjoys reading all day, and playing soccer as well.
Child Care has always been my passion, I enjoy every day seeing our children grow and develop, and partner with their parents in creating the best environment at daycare and home for their children to become a whole person aware of the world around them.
Valley House Daycare is our children's home away from home. VHD is full of love, learning, and leadership. This program is the perfect blend of family oriented care with educational structure built throughout the entire day, not to mention the additional benefit of Spanish Immersion! A few highlights of the VHD program: a cozy home dedicated only to daycare, more than one staff member caring for kids, from scratch homemade meals, wonderful accommodations for our kiddo with food allergies, frequent outside play, spring and summer gardening, daily lessons including literacy, fine motor, counting, math, and so much more. We have loved VHD since day one, and feel very fortunate to have our littles be a part of the Valley House Daycare family.
